Jordan: Firing near Israeli Embassy in Jordan, gunman killed, 3 policemen injured
Jordan : A gunman was shot dead and three police officers were injured near the Israeli Embassy in Jordan early on Sunday. According to reports, the attacker had opened fire on a police patrol in the Rabiah area of Amman. He was killed in police retaliatory firing. Investigation of the matter is ongoing. Jordan Police had cordoned off the area near the embassy. Two eyewitnesses said that as soon as they heard the gunshots, police and ambulances reached the area where the embassy is located.

According to reports, this area has been the center of frequent protests against Israel. Large rallies have been seen here in Gaza in protest against Israeli military action. On October 7, 2023, in response to a major attack by Hamas in Israel, the Jewish Nation started a military operation in the Gaza Strip occupied by the Palestinian group. About 1200 people were killed in the Hamas attack while more than 250 people were taken hostage. Israeli attacks have caused widespread destruction in Gaza and killed thousands of Palestinians.
