IPL 2025 Mega Auction: A lot of money was showered on many players on the first day of IPL 2025 mega auction. While franchises spent lavishly on Indian players, most of the teams were seen refraining from placing big bids on foreign names. While players like David Warner remained unsold, KKR was very kind to Venkatesh Iyer. Let us tell you who were the five players on whom it rained money on the first day.

Rishabh Pant

Even before the start of the mega auction, it was believed that the biggest bid could be made in the name of Rishabh Pant and that is exactly what happened. As soon as Pant's name came up, there was a race among the franchises to include the Indian wicketkeeper in the team. There was a fierce battle for Pant between Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals, RCB and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Pant has become the most expensive player in IPL history to be sold in the auction.

Shreyas Iyer

KKR and Lucknow Super Giants tried their best to get the Indian batsman, but finally Punjab Kings included Iyer in their team with a bid of Rs 26.75 crore.

Venkatesh Iyer

KKR could not include Shreyas Iyer in the team and spent money generously for Venkatesh Iyer. There was a bidding war between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata in the name of Venkatesh. However, in the end, KKR was successful in winning by buying Venkatesh for Rs 23.75 crore.

Yuzvendra Chahal

Even though Yuzvendra Chahal is walking out of the Indian team, its effect was not visible in the mega auction of IPL 2025. There was a lot of bidding in the name of Chahal and finally Punjab Kings included him in their team by paying a huge amount of Rs 18 crores. Chahal has also become the most expensive spinner in IPL history.

Arshdeep Singh

There was a fierce battle between the franchises to include Arshdeep Singh, who took the most wickets in T-20 International this year, in the team. Sunrisers Hyderabad made the last bid of Rs 15.75 crore for Arshdeep, but Punjab Kings used the Right to Match card. After this, Hyderabad made a bid of Rs 18 crore for Arshdeep, accepting which Punjab again included Arshdeep in the team with the help of RTMM.
