Ingredients to make Chicken Kori Roti

For Chicken Curry:
  1. Chicken – 500 grams (with or without bones)
  2. Onion – 2 (finely chopped)
  3. Tomato – 2 (finely chopped)
  4. Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  5. Green chillies – 2-3 (finely chopped)
  6. Coconut milk – 1 cup
  7. Oil – 3 tbsp
  8. Water – as per requirement
  9. Salt – as per taste
For spices:
  1. Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
  2. Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  3. Red chilli powder – 1 teaspoon
  4. Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp
  5. Curry leaves – 10-12
  6. Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon
For Kori Roti:
  1. Rice flour – 2 cups
  2. Water – 3 cups
  3. Salt – as per taste

Chicken Kori Roti Recipe

1. Prepare chicken curry
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds in it.
  • When the grains start crackling, add curry leaves and fry for a few seconds.
  • Now add finely chopped onion and fry until it turns golden brown.
  • After this add ginger-garlic paste and green chilli and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and cook until tomatoes become soft.
  • Add turmeric, coriander, red chili powder, and garam masala and fry the spices well.
  • Add the chicken pieces, mix it with the spices and fry for 5-7 minutes.
  • Now add coconut milk and some water, cover and cook on medium flame for 20-25 minutes.
  • Add salt as per taste and cook till the curry thickens.
2. Prepare Kori Roti
  • Heat water and salt in a vessel.
  • When the water starts boiling, add rice flour to it and mix well.
  • Lower the flame and cook until it thickens.
  • Roll the prepared mixture into a thin layer and bake it on low flame to make a crispy roti.
3. Method of serving

Chicken Kori Roti is ready. Serve it hot with curry. Place the kori roti in a plate and pour chicken curry over it.
