Palamu: Congress leader Radhakrishna Kishore, who has been elected MLA from Chhatarpur assembly seat for the sixth time, has made a big allegation against the RJD candidate. Radhakrishna Kishore, who won the Chhatarpur seat of Palamu division in a friendly contest, while giving a statement in front of the media after his victory, said that the candidates of Rashtriya Janata Dal were trying their best to defeat him instead of BJP.

Newly elected MLA Radhakrishna Kishore said that the people of Chhatarpur gave him immense support. He got votes from all sections of the people in the assembly constituency. The battle was being fought on two fronts in this assembly constituency. RJD is a part of the India alliance and their candidates were putting more energy into defeating Radhakrishna Kishore than defeating BJP.

RJD and Congress had fielded candidates for Chhatarpur assembly seat at the last moment. Radhakrishna Kishore had taken membership of the Congress Party just before getting the ticket. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha had given its support to the Congress candidate on this seat. RJD had made Vijay Ram its candidate and after not getting the ticket from RJD, Mamta Bhuiyan had contested the election on Samajwadi Party ticket. Whereas BJP once again made Pushpa Devi its candidate.

A close fight gave Radhakrishna Kishore the seat of Chhatarpur in Choli of Congress after 20 years. Congress defeated BJP in the elections by just 736 votes. Radhakrishna Kishore got a total of 71857 votes and Pushpa Devi got 71121 votes. While Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Vijay Ram has got 20963 votes. Radhakrishna Kishore will represent Chhatarpur for the sixth time. Before this, he had been MLA from Chhatarpur five times. In the year 2004, he contested elections from Chhatarpur for the first time on Congress ticket and won. Let us tell you that there are five assembly seats in Palamu, out of which Congress had contested four seats, but could win only one seat.
