Dhullu Mahato and Chandraprakash Chaudhary defeated BJP due to brotherhood, broke NDA's dream of coming to power.
Ranchi: Many factors are being said to be responsible for the defeat of BJP and NDA in Jharkhand assembly elections. One factor in BJP's defeat in this election is said to be the MPs not working for the alliance candidates in their Lok Sabha constituencies. BJP's seats in Koyalanchal, its stronghold, have reduced and the reason behind this is that the two MPs coming from this area are said to be focusing on their brother's assembly constituency instead of their party and alliance.
Know how the preparations are going on for Hemant Soren's swearing-in in Ranchi? Who will be the special guests?
Dhanbad MP Dhullu Mahato is being said to be most responsible for NDA's defeat in the coal sector. Out of the six assembly constituencies falling in Dhanbad Lok Sabha constituency, BJP has lost in four assembly constituencies. In 2019, BJP had won in Bokaro, Sindri, Nirsa, Dhanbad and Chandankiyari assembly constituencies but it lost only in Jharia. But in 2024, except Dhanbad and Jharia, BJP candidates lost on other seats. The reason behind this is that BJP MP from Dhanbad Dhullu Mahato is not paying attention to his Lok Sabha constituency and is paying more attention to Baghmara Assembly constituency from where his brother Shatridhan Mahato was the candidate. Though Baghmara falls in Giridih Lok Sabha constituency, but Dhulu wanted to win at any cost in his old seat Baghmara, in which he was successful but BJP had to bear the brunt of it and BJP candidates lost the elections on four seats of Dhanbad.
AJSU's newly elected MLA Nirmal Mahato alias Tiwari Mahato will resign, will vacate the seat for Sudesh.
AJSU MP from Giridih, Chandraprakash Chaudhary was also not left behind among those who left the party and alliance aside in the name of family. NDA had to suffer loss in Giridih Lok Sabha constituency due to CP Choudhary's efforts to help his brother and wife win the elections. Chandraprakash Chaudhary's brother was the BJP candidate from Barkagaon seat and his wife was the AJSU Party candidate from Ramgarh seat. Roshan Chaudhary won the election from Barkagaon but Sunita Chaudhary lost the election from Ramgarh to Mamta Depi of Congress. CP Chaudhary continued to support his brother and wife in contesting elections while NDA had to suffer loss in Giridih seat. Out of the seats of Gomia, Bermo, Tundi, Baghmara, Giridih and Dumri, NDA won only Baghmara seat where BJP MP Dhullu Mahato's brother Shatrughan Mahato won. NDA had to pay the price of sending family members of MPs from Giridih and Dhanbad seats to the assembly where the alliance lost 5 seats.
