Annual prize distribution ceremony was organized at Government Excellent Senior Secondary School, Gahlian. SMC head Suman Devi was the chief guest of the function, along with the head of Gahlian Panchayat, deputy head, panchayat representative and other dignitaries of the village attended as guests and graced the programme. The ceremony started with Saraswati Vandana. During this, Principal Gulshan Awasthi presented the annual report in front of all the guests and parents present.
He said that every possible effort is being made to provide education to the children studying in the school and participation in sports fields and other activities is also ensured from time to time. On this occasion, the school magazine Smritika was also released. The stage was conducted by Navneet Walia and Veena Devi. On this occasion, all the students were honored by giving mementoes and education related materials as prizes, which were used for the whole year's activities – Ranked first, second and third in annual examination results, sports fields and all other programs.
On this occasion, the students enthralled the audience by presenting Pahari songs, patriotic songs, Punjabi-Haryanvi dance, Pahari Naati and the children of primary school Gahlian also presented their performances. Rajiv Dogra, Vikas Chaudhary, Bharti, Vinod Kumar, Ajay Koti, Pankaj Dhaloria, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Shilpa, Rajni Shah, Radha Devi, Sonu Bala, Ranjana Devi, Manisha, Nimmo Devi, Meenakshi Devi, Hemlata, were instrumental in making the program successful. Sangeeta, Vikram, all the teachers contributed.
