Priyanka Gandhi wrote on social media X, 'Be careful, the attitude of the state government regarding the sudden controversy in Uttar Pradesh is very unfortunate. The hasty manner in which the administration took action in such a sensitive matter, without listening to the other side and without taking both sides into confidence, shows that the government itself has spoiled the atmosphere. The administration did not consider it necessary to follow necessary procedures and duties.

Sitting in power and trying to spread discrimination, oppression and division is neither in the interest of the people nor in the interest of the country. Honorable Supreme Court should take cognizance of this matter and do justice. My appeal to the people of the state is to maintain peace under all circumstances.

Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had said on the Sambhal incident that, the partiality and hasty attitude of the state government on the recent dispute in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh is extremely unfortunate. My deepest condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in violence and firing. The insensitive and insensitive action taken by the administration without listening to all parties further worsened the situation and led to the deaths of many people – for which the BJP government is directly responsible.

BJP's use of power to create rift and discrimination between Hindu-Muslim societies is in the interest of neither the state nor the country. I request the Supreme Court to intervene in this matter as soon as possible and do justice. My appeal is to maintain peace and mutual harmony. We all have to join together to ensure that India moves forward on the path of unity and Constitution, not communalism and hatred.
