Trump withdraws the name of Matt Gates, announces Pam Bondi as Attorney General
Washington: America's newly elected President Donald Trump had announced the appointment of hardliner Republican Matt Gates as Attorney General. Gates withdrew his name eight days after Trump's announcement. After which now it has been announced to make Pam Bondi the Attorney General.
The reason behind Matt Gates' withdrawal of name is that opposition against him had started within the Republican Party itself. People of the Democratic Party were raising questions ever since the name was announced.

Gates accused of having sex with a minor girl
Gates had resigned from the House of Representatives only last week. A case related to Gates is under investigation by the Ethics Committee. He is accused of having sexual relations with a 17 year old minor girl. However, Gates has rejected these allegations.
Pam Bondi, former Attorney General of Florida
Now Trump has announced to appoint Pam Bondi as Attorney General in place of Matt Gates. Pam Bondi is the former Attorney General of Florida and has also been Trump's lawyer. Trump said in a statement released on Truth Social that I am pleased to announce that former Attorney General of Florida Pam Bondi will be the next Attorney General of the United States.
