A fire broke out at the Titan Bar in Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem District on Monday morning, prompting the evacuation of hundreds from nearby buildings.

The fire began on the third floor of the 260 sq.m bar, located on Hai Ba Trung Street, at approximately 9:10 a.m. The bar was not operational at the time, with only four staff members present to oversee the premises.

Attempts by employees to extinguish the flames were unsuccessful. Thick smoke spread to a nearby 15-story building, forcing its occupants to evacuate. Some people covered their noses with cloth and sought refuge on the roof before being directed to safer areas.

One person suffered from smoke inhalation and received first aid at the scene.

At least five firefighting trucks were dispatched, and the blaze was brought under control by 10:45 a.m. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
