'Will not be afraid of personal attacks', CM Sukhu targeted BJP, said – previous government looted Himachal

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Monday targeted the opposition party BJP. During this, he said that he will not be afraid of personal attacks from BJP and will keep taking decisions with the aim of strengthening the economy of the state. CM Sukhu made this statement during the inauguration and foundation stone laying program of development projects worth Rs 43.37 crore in Kasumpti assembly constituency of Shimla district. Accusing BJP leaders of exaggerating minor issues on social media to defame the state government, Sukhu said they opened 900 institutions in the six months before the elections but are silent about the development work done by the present government.

Attacking his opponents, the Chief Minister said that they are making irrelevant statements showing their frustration after our victory in the recent by-elections. The Chief Minister also said that the present government in the state had inherited an empty treasury from its previous government. He accused the previous BJP government of neglecting the education sector and lowering its standards in the state.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister claimed that the Congress government has established 800 excellent schools during its tenure. Apart from this, Rajiv Gandhi is continuously working to change this situation by opening day-boarding schools across the state. Sukhu said that in the first cabinet meeting, we increased the remuneration of MNREGA workers from Rs 240 to Rs 300 and restored the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for 1.36 lakh employees. Apart from this, the minimum support price of cow and buffalo milk was increased to Rs 45 and Rs 55 respectively. Wheat produced through natural farming is being purchased at the rate of Rs 40 per kg and maize at the rate of Rs 30 per kg.

CM raised questions on EVM

Let us tell you that after the defeat of Congress-allied Mahavikas Aghadi in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu had raised questions on the reliability of EVMs. During a conversation with the media in Shimla, the Chief Minister had reiterated the demand for holding elections on ballot paper instead of EVMs. The Chief Minister said that technology expert Elon Musk himself has said that technology can be hacked. In such a situation, to remove the doubts of the people, elections should be conducted on ballot paper.
