This constitution is the pride of this library present in the middle of the crowded market of Giridih. It is always kept locked so that no one can tamper with it. This handwritten constitution is decorated with paintings in which images of Gautam Buddha along with King Rama are engraved. All the important things in the Constitution, from the Preamble to the Directive Principles and Fundamental Rights, have been written by hand.
First signature of Rajendra Prasad
Signatures of all the members of the Constituent Assembly can also be seen in it. The signature of the President of the Constituent Assembly, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, is the first. Rajendra Prasad has signed in Hindi and English while it is followed by the signature of Jawahar Lal Nehru. Apart from Hindi and English, leaders from different states across the country have signed it in other languages also.
Jaipal Singh Munda was also a member
Jaipal Singh Munda from Jharkhand has made a huge contribution to this Constitution. He put forward many important proposals in this constitution for the rights and entitlements of the tribals. His speech by Pandit Nehru in support of the Preamble of the Constitution is still remembered.
