Mahayuti won 235 out of 288 seats. BJP alone won 132 seats and emerged as the largest party in the state. BJP got 26.77 percent votes in Maharashtra elections.

After this victory, speculations are now being made as to who will become the next CM of Maharashtra? Mahayuti alliance consists of BJP, NCP and Shiv Sena. On one hand, BJP workers want Fadnavis to be made the Chief Minister of the state, while the Shinde group wants to see Eknath Shinde become the CM.

At the same time, NCP President Sharad Pawar has given his support to Devendra Fadnavis. If sources are to be believed, Mahayuti has approved the name of Devendra Fadnavis, but it has not been officially announced yet. Eknath Shinde has resigned from the post of Chief Minister on Tuesday and the state may get a new CM on November 29.
