Let us tell you that Rishabh Pant was released by Delhi Capitals before the IPL 2025 auction. Pant had been a part of the Delhi team since 2016 and was made the captain ahead of the 2021 season, replacing the injured Shreyas Iyer. After this, Pant was retained as captain for IPL 2022. However, Pant made a comeback in IPL 2024 after recovering from serious injuries sustained in a fatal car accident in December 2022. But, after the average performance of Delhi Capitals, there was every possibility of him being stripped of the captaincy.
