John Tinniswood, the world's oldest person and a person who experienced both world wars, died at the age of 112.
The world's oldest man John Tinniswood has passed away. He breathed his last at the age of 112. He was born on 26 August 1912 in Liverpool, Britain. Guinness World Records announced this. John Tinniswood has been a lifelong supporter of Liverpool Football Club. He died on Monday at a care center in South Port. Tinniswood spent his last days immersed in music, his family said. He was known to always be thankful and the family expressed gratitude to everyone who cared for him.
When 114-year-old Juan Vicente Perez of Venezuela died this year, Tinniswood was declared the world's oldest person. John believed that a long life was simply his luck. He never followed any particular diet and preferred to eat fish and chips once a week.
John also experienced both world wars. He also played the role of an administrative officer in the Second World War. He worked as an accountant for companies such as Shell and BP and retired in 1972. He is survived by a daughter, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. John maintained moderation in his lifestyle and called it the secret of a long life. The world's oldest person was Jiromon Kimura of Japan, who died in 2013 at the age of 116 years and 54 days.
