These plans of Jio, Airtel, Vi have become expensive, you will have to pay more amount

If you are using postpaid SIM then there is bad news for you. Telecom companies including Jio, Airtel, Vodafone Idea have increased the price of their postpaid plans from 12 percent to 25 percent. Therefore customers will now have to pay more. For example, the Rs 399 monthly plan is now priced at Rs 449, an increase of Rs 50.

Telecom companies have increased the prices of their plans at different times instead of all at once, due to which most of the users did not even notice the change in their bills. Bills for the months of October and November are being sent at the new price. Apart from this, 18 percent GST will have to be paid separately on post paid plans. This is the biggest reason why the cost of using a postpaid SIM card has increased after the increase in prices.

This will have a direct impact on users

There are more than 120 crore mobile users in India, of which 12 percent use postpaid services. That means there are 13 to 14 crore users who use postpaid connections. Now the cost is going to increase for all these users. Telecom companies now offer additional benefits and features like data rollover with postpaid plans, making postpaid plans best for customers in urban areas with high internet usage.

Thus, the price of the cheapest plan has increased by only Rs 50, but the cost increases with GST. For example, if a user was using a plan of Rs 399 till now, then he will have to pay Rs 530 as per the new price including GST. Similarly, if a user was using premium plan then its expense was Rs 1059, for which now users will have to pay Rs 1129.

Tariff plan prices were increased in July itself

You will remember that in the month of July this year, Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea had increased the prices of their tariff plans by 25 to 40 percent. The company had made the plans expensive citing technology and increased costs for 5G rollout. Later a new trend was seen that many users shifted towards BSNL and the users of other companies decreased.

That is why now companies have launched special plans only for selected postpaid subscribers, so that many users are not affected.
