Kanpur Ganga Bridge Collapsed: The Ganga bridge connecting Kanpur to Unnao collapsed early Tuesday morning in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The bridge collapsed within minutes. This bridge was built by the British. The bridge is said to be about 125 years old. Since the bridge was already damaged, traffic was stopped here and the government has also agreed to demolish the bridge.

Ganga bridge collapsed
Let us tell you that three years ago, traffic was stopped here due to the dilapidated condition of the bridge. Because of this, when the bridge collapsed on Tuesday, there was no loss of life.

The bridge was built in 1870
This bridge was built by the British in 1870. This bridge was built to connect Kanpur and Shuklaganj. This bridge was built with double story structure. Trains used to run in the upper part and light vehicles used to run in the lower part. Years later, a separate bridge was constructed for trains and both parts of this bridge were opened for vehicles.
Traffic on the bridge closed three years ago
In view of the dilapidated condition of this 100 years old bridge, traffic here was stopped three years ago. The government has also agreed to demolish the bridge.
