The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the release of an amount of ₹400 crore by December this year for the Haranandipuram township project. This project is an important part of the Chief Minister Urban Expansion New City Promotion Scheme, which aims to expand cities like Ghaziabad to meet the needs of the growing population.
Land Acquisition and Survey
Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has started the survey to acquire about 521 hectares of land in eight villages for the project. The cost of the entire project is estimated to be around ₹10,000 crore, of which ₹5,000 crore will be spent on land acquisition. The cost of the project will be shared equally between the state government and GDA.
Among these villages, maximum land of 247.84 hectares is to be acquired from Nangla Firozpur, while 123.97 hectares from Shamsher, 54.20 hectares from Shahpur Morta and land from other places will also be acquired. The process of drone and physical survey is underway for land acquisition, which will meet the growing housing needs of the city.
First installment of funds and capital raising
In a high level meeting held in Lucknow, it was decided that the first installment under the Chief Minister Urban Expansion Scheme will be released in December. The GDA official said the authority will raise an amount of ₹800 crore in the next six months.
raising money through auction
GDA had recently auctioned several plots of various housing schemes as part of raising the required capital. The auction held on November 6 raised ₹58 crore from schemes like Indirapuram, Govindpuram, Radhakunj, Shastri Nagar and Karpooripuram. There are plans to auction more properties in the future, from which the money will be invested in the development of Haranandipuram township.
The first phase of the Haranandipuram Township project is planned to be launched next year, which will be an important step in the development of Ghaziabad. This township will prove helpful in meeting the residential needs of the city in future.
