Former Dior supermodel Mandy Lieu adopts farming lifestyle following breakup with billionaire casino mogul Alvin Chau

She now lives on a farm where she practices sustainable organic farming and raises her four children. On Nov. 24, she hosted a group of students for an educational tour, introducing them to farming and animal care, and even involved them in naming a newborn beaver, according to a report by St Headline.

Over the last four years, Lieu has invested around £28 million (approximately US$35 million) in purchasing land for her self-sustaining farm. She participates in the day-to-day farming activities, growing a range of fruits and vegetables, and rearing free-range cattle and pigs. Lieu also runs a farm shop that supplies her produce to supermarkets and restaurants.

Her farming estate also includes facilities for her children, providing a naturalistic living environment with horse stables, a lake, and flower gardens. She employs three nannies to help with childcare and household duties, as per HK01.

Known as one of Asia’s biggest stars, Lieu, 39, has fronted campaigns for Dior, graced Tokyo’s runways, and represented luxury fashion brands like Miu Miu, Omega, and Marc Jacobs. She also had a celebrated career as a TV presenter and actress.

She gained significant public attention in 2014 when her romantic relationship with Chau became public while he was still married with children. Lieu had four children with Chau, 50, and was arranged to live in the U.K to avoid media scrutiny in Hong Kong.

Lieu is said to have used a £29.7 million “break-up fee” received from Chau to buy her £28 million estate after they parted ways in 2029. Chau, whose net worth is reportedly around $2 billion, built his fortune as the chairman of Suncity Group, a company that manages VIP gaming facilities throughout Asia and has several property and resort projects abroad.

In November 2021, Macao police arrested Chau and other suspects for their involvement in illegal gambling operations and money laundering, and the case was handed over to prosecutors, as per the Global Times.

A Macau court convicted him in January 2023 of fraud, leading a criminal organization, and managing illegal gambling. He received a sentence of 18 years and is now incarcerated in Coloane Prison, Macau.
