30% jump in car sales since the beginning of Navratri: An atmosphere of excitement in the auto industry!
New Delhi: With the beginning of Navadurga festival, there is a new lease of life in the auto sector, which was facing recession for the last three months. After sales were not satisfactory during the Ganesh festival, concerns had increased among automakers and dealers. But the significant increase in vehicle sales during Navadurga has created excitement for Diwali. As soon as Shraddha ends, there is an increase in the delivery of cars.
According to recent reports, the number of customers in car showrooms has increased three times in the first week of October. Not only enquiries, but actual sales have also increased by about 30%. Regions like Central India, Rajasthan and Delhi are seeing good growth in car sales, while sales growth is still slow in states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Irregular rains have caused problems in some rural areas, and crop sales are also pending in some places, so the situation is likely to improve going forward.
According to estimates, the auto sector has inventory worth about Rs 80,000 crore, which is about 80 days of stock. The festive season accounts for 30-40% of car companies' annual sales, so this year the industry is trying to reduce the inventory backlog through offers and discounts.
It is worth noting that according to Hindu belief, the festival of Navadurga is considered auspicious for new works. For this reason, people started booking vehicles from the month of September itself. Apart from this, good sales are also expected during Navadurga as well as other festivals like Dhanteras and Diwali.
A large number of bookings are also being done for luxury vehicles. Due to ongoing discounts on starting and mid segment cars, customers are trying to take advantage of this opportunity.
