iPhones worth over $10 billion produced in India



American smartphone maker Apple has produced iPhones worth more than $10 billion in India in the first seven months of the current financial year, i.e. April-October 2024. Of these, iPhones worth seven billion dollars have been exported. The company produced iPhones worth $14 billion in India during the financial year 2023-24.

PLI scheme becomes a milestone

Of these, iPhones worth more than $10 billion were exported. This is another milestone for the smartphone Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said in an interview on Monday. He said that in the last four years, Apple's ecosystem has created 1.75 lakh new jobs in the country. In which more than 72 percent are women.

Apple is choosing India

Apple exports about a billion dollars worth of iPhones every month. Apple's revenues in India were at an all-time high during the July-September 2024 quarter. At that time, the company's CEO Tim Cook had said that we are very excited about India's figures. Apple has had an extraordinary year of innovation. Apple's operating revenue in India grew 36 percent to Rs. Profit of Rs 66,700 crore. 2,746 crores. The company's profit in India in the financial year 2022-23 was Rs 2,229.6 crore.

Apple's latest and advanced iPhone 16 series Pro models are being manufactured in India. In the month of September this year, the company has brought four models of iPhone series with Apple Intelligence in the global market. The base model of the series starts at Rs 79,990. This range of Apple includes iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
