Actually, Yuvraj Singh saw Rishika's batting in a video on social media and his attention got stuck in it. After this, on the initiative of Yuvraj, his Excellence Center and Merlin Group decided to sponsor Rishika and now the expenses of Rishika's education and cricket training will come from this sponsorship.
In the video that Yuvraj saw, Rishika was playing cricket with her father and in this video, the style of this girl from Newtown area of Kolkata was as if a professional player was batting. After watching the video, it was only said that his cricket talent is a gift from God and perhaps he was born only to play cricket.
Although Yuvraj Singh had announced this scholarship during this year's T20 World Cup and later honored Rishika in a function, but in reality, this scholarship has come into effect now. To boost Rishika's morale, Yuvraj first gifted her a cricket bat with his autograph. Regarding Rishika, Yuvraj says that he is surprised to see such talent at such a young age and some of the shots are simply incomprehensible.
Yuvraj Singh Center of Excellence and Merlin Group are working together to hone the young cricket talent of Kolkata and this is a part of that series. Rishika will be training at the Yuvraj High-Performance Training Center in Merlin Rise, Kolkata and the coaches are paying special attention to her.
Rishika Sarkar is a girl from a poor family in New Town area, who struggles every day, initially to earn bread. Even then Rishika's desire to play cricket was not suppressed and practicing for more than 6 hours every day is a proof of her intention to do something special. Till now, only her father, Rajeev Sarkar, was giving her training and Rishika can play all strokes from square drive to cover drive. Now special training will be given three days a week at Yuvraj Singh Center of Excellence (YSCE) under the close supervision of the coach. A new diet schedule has also been made. There will be arrangements to play in matches and a nearby school is also being searched so that he can study further.
He held a cricket bat for the first time at the age of about two and a half years and from the age of 3, training started. It is said that she plays cover drives better than people 4-5 times her age. This is called love for cricket. Still, considering Rishika's age of 4 years, it would not be right to say that she can be the next big name in Indian cricket in the coming years. However, it is certain that the enthusiasm and dedication for cricket is amazing and that is why the footwork is of bookish style.
Rishika's mother Radhika Sarkar takes tuition. She wanted Rishika to also study but did not stop her from playing due to her hobbies.
