Nayanthara Dhanush Fight: A new dispute has come to light between famous South actor Dhanush and actress Nayanthara. Dhanush has filed a civil suit in the Madras High Court against Nayanthara and her husband filmmaker Vignesh Shivan. Netflix documentary regarding this case "Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale" Uses visuals from his film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan without permission.

Dhanush's production company sued

Dhanush's production company Wunderbar Films Private Limited has filed a petition in the court against Nayanthara, Vignesh and their company Rowdy Pictures Private Limited. It has been alleged that Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan have used visuals from the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in the docu-drama without permission.

Hearing of the case in Madras High Court

Dhanush's company has also filed an application in the High Court, seeking approval to prosecute the case against Los Gatos Production Services India LLP. This is the same company through which Netflix invests its content in India. Madras High Court, while hearing this case, has issued a notice to Nayanthara and ordered her to reply on the next hearing.

Nayanthara's open letter and allegations against Dhanush

Before this controversy, Nayanthara had shared a long open letter on social media, in which she accused Dhanush of not giving permission to use visuals in the documentary. Nayanthara claimed that despite not getting approval for the visuals, she had edited the documentary and did not use any footage related to the film. Nayanthara said that Dhanush had sent her a legal notice of Rs 10 crore for using 3 second visuals.

History of the film and cause of controversy

Naanum Rowdy Dhaan was released in 2015, starring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles. The film was directed by Vignesh Shivan. It was during this film that the closeness between Vignesh and Nayanthara grew and both of them got married in 2022. Now due to this controversy, the matter of the footage of his film and documentary is in the court.
