Divya Prabha reacts to leaked video of nude scene from All We Imagine as Light
Mumbai Mumbai. Actress Divya Prabha, who was recently seen in the critically acclaimed film All We Imagine as Light, has opened up about her leaked nude scene. For those who don't know, let us tell you that the film was released in theaters on November 22 and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) approved the nudity scene without any cuts. The Censor Board has not made any changes in its dialogues either. In this film directed by Payal Kapadia, Divya plays the role of Anu, a young Malayali nurse. While speaking to OnManorama, Divya reacted to the leaking of her nude scene on social media and called it 'pathetic'.
“It's really pathetic. However, when I signed for this role, I still expected such a reaction from a section of the people of Kerala. We are a community that loves filmmakers like Yorgos Lanthimos and even “We even celebrate actresses who win Oscars for their work in films. But we don't tolerate such roles being played by Malayali women,” said Divya.
Criticizing those who shared the video clip, Divya said, “Those who shared the leaked videos comprise 10 per cent of the population, and I don't understand their mentality. Malayalees were also part of the Central Board, which approved us. A As an actor, I write scripts that I am confident about, and I was completely confident about my character in All We Imagine as Light. Some people criticized me, saying that I did it for the sake of fame. Did a nude scene. I have won many awards and have been a part of critically acclaimed films, I don't think I need to be naked to get fame.”
Talking about showing female nudity in the film, Payal Kapadia had earlier said in an interview with Mid-Day, “I wanted to make it normal. It is a part of everyday life, like eating and drinking. I want to make it normal. One of the themes I wanted to be authentic to was desire, and there are many ways to achieve that. But this was the most natural thing to put into the film.”
