“He could have a really big series in Australia”: Rahul Dravid predicts more success for India’s top performer in BGT 2024-25
Former India player Rahul Dravid, who shares a close bond with the current national players, has predicted more success for Virat Kohli in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The 36-year-old slammed a hundred in the second innings of the series opener in Perth. Kohli’s century came after 491 days in the longest format of the game.
Dravid mentioned that Kohli looked in good touch in India’s 295-run win over the hosts.
“He has been batting really well. When we were in South Africa, he showed his class on some of the difficult pitches. It is nice that he got a hundred at the start of the series. I think he could have a big series,” Rahul Dravid said on Star Sports.
Yashasvi Jaiswal amassed 161 runs in the second innings, and Dravid also hailed the left-handed batter for his batting display.
“Yashasvi Jaiswal has been going strong. It’s hard to believe that he made his Test debut a year and a half ago. To go to Australia and play in Perth and also score a hundred in the first Test Down Under, I don’t think many players would have been able to do that. I am sure that someone like him, with his hunger and desire, is going to get better and better,” he added.
