Court accepts the petition declaring Ajmer Sharif Dargah as a Hindu temple, notice issued to the parties
New Delhi. Ajmer Civil Court has considered the petition claiming that there is Sankat Mochan Mahadev Temple in the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti of Ajmer in Rajasthan worthy of hearing. This petition was filed in the court on behalf of Vishnu Gupta of Hindu Sena. Judge Manmohan Chandel has accepted the petition making this claim.

In this case, a demand has been made to conduct an ASI survey of the Dargah, so that evidence can be gathered to find out whether Ajmer Dargah was earlier a temple or not. The court issued notice instructions after the hearing on Wednesday.
Hindu Sena's Vishnu Gupta has claimed that the Ajmer Dargah was earlier a Hindu Sankat Mochan temple and presented documents and evidence in support of it. He told that this temple is also mentioned in a book by Har Vilas Sharda.
Vishnu Gupta also presented various other documents in the court and demanded that Ajmer Dargah be surveyed and its recognition be canceled and the Hindu community be given the right to worship here. According to the court order, notices will be issued to Ajmer Dargah Committee, Minority Department and ASI. National President of Hindu Sena Vishnu Gupta had filed the suit in the court through lawyers Ramnivas Bishnoi and Ishwar Singh.
