Regarding Patna Marathon, Bihar Information Department Secretary Vinod Singh Gunjyal said that the purpose of this marathon is to make Bihar drug free and to bring awareness about drug de-addiction among the people. To create a healthy society. The theme of Patna Marathon has been kept as ‘Run for drug-free Bihar’. The marathon race will start at 5 am on December 1 from Gate No. 1 of Gandhi Maidan, Patna. T-shirts and medals were also launched for the runners in the press conference today.

On this occasion, Traffic SP Patna Aparajit Lohan, GM of SBI and others were also present. He told that there are 4 types of races in Patna Marathon 2024. In these, full marathon (42 km), half marathon (21 km), 10 km and 5 km are being conducted. There are 6 categories for each category of race registration. These include General, Officers, SBI, Elite, Edge and Bihar Fastest category. Participants from across the country and abroad are participating in this marathon.

There is a provision for online registration for the participants. Interested runners can register on the website www.biharmarathon.com. The last date for online registration is till 29th November. Offline registration will be available till November 30 for up to five km.

He said that till now a total of 314 officers/personnel (14 IAS/IPS). A total of 7500 participants, including 918 SBI category, 35 elite category (International runners) and remaining other runners, have registered to participate in various categories of races. A total prize of Rs 50 lakh has been arranged in various categories for the winners of full marathon, half marathon and 10 km race.

In Patna Marathon 2024, the full marathon (42 km) race will start at 5 am, while the half marathon (21 km) will start at 5:30 am, the 10 km race will start at 6:30 am and the 5 km race will start at 7:30 am. Will start.

The route of Patna Marathon will start from Gate No. 1 of Gandhi Maidan, via Golghar, Ganga Path and Atal Path, till Shivpuri Foot Over Bridge and from there take a U-turn and return to Gandhi Maidan. The distance from Gandhi Maidan to Shivpuri Foot Over Bridge is 10.5 km. The route of full marathon (42 km) and half marathon (21 km) will remain the same. Runners will be equipped with electronic devices.

Zone-wise traffic plan will be prepared by SP Traffic of Patna for Patna Marathon. The eastern and southern lanes of Atal Path and JP Ganga Path will remain closed from 11 pm on November 30 to 10 am on December 1. International badminton player Saina Nehwal is coming to encourage the runners. Also, DJ Oli AG will be there for the warm-up session and Aanchal Hans will be there for the Zumba session.

The Secretary said that a 32×24 square feet stage will be built near Gandhi Maidan for this race. Space has been marked for VPIP/VIP on the right side of the stage. There will be arrangements for separate cottages for press, media, health services etc. Gate number 12 entry gate has been kept in Gandhi Maidan for VVIP/VIP. Participants will enter from gate number 10 and 4 of Gandhi Maidan. The emergency exit will be gate number 5.

Adequate force will be deployed to maintain adequate law and order at Gandhi Maidan and Marathon Marg. Adequate arrangements have been made for drinking water, mobile toilets, medical team, fire fighting vehicles etc. in Gandhi Maidan and Marathon Marg. There will be separate toilet arrangements for women and men. There will be adequate arrangements for power supply on the marathon route.
