Rahul Dravid praised Virat's Perth century

MUMBAI Mumbai: Former Indian head coach Rahul Dravid said that star Indian Virat Kohli can play a big series against Australia during the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy and scoring a century early in the series is good for him.

Virat ended a Test century drought of over 500 days and displayed his class in his preferred Australian conditions as he returned to form against the Aussies at the Optus Stadium in Perth with a century which gave the Australian team a mental and physical challenge. Tired of form and headed to a 295-run victory.

Speaking to Star Sports, Dravid said about Virat, “He is batting really well, even a few months ago when we were in South Africa, I thought he could bat really well on some difficult wickets.” Was batting well. It is good for him to score a century in the beginning of the series, I think he can play a big series.

Also, with 54 List-A centuries, nine T20 centuries and 37 first-class centuries, Virat has completed 100 centuries in professional cricket. Virat has also become the seventh player in the history of Border-Gavaskar Trophy to complete 2,000 runs. In 26 BGT matches, he has scored 2,147 runs at an average of 48.79, which includes nine centuries and five fifties. His best score is 186.
