In a letter dated November 27, it urged the PM Modi-led central government to take immediate steps for the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh and advocated for the release of Chinmoy Krishna Das and other religious leaders who were unjustly arrested. Is.

“The immediate release of Chinmoy Krishna Das and other religious leaders who have been unjustly arrested is essential,” the letter said. All charges against them should be dropped and their rights to peacefully protest and express their concerns should be upheld.

The group has also urged the Prime Minister Modi-led central government to take up the arrest of ISKCON Bangladesh priest Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari at international forums such as the United Nations, Human Rights Council and other relevant international forums. “We demand the application of targeted international sanctions against Bangladesh, particularly against individuals and entities involved in religious persecution and human rights violations,” the letter said. “The purpose of these sanctions should be to pressure the Bangladeshi government to end its involvement in these atrocities and protect the rights of religious minorities.”

Chinmoy Krishna Das was arrested on Monday and produced before a Chittagong court on Tuesday, where his bail plea was rejected and he was remanded to custody. According to the Dhaka Tribune, Chinmoy Krishna Das appeared before Chittagong Sixth Metropolitan Magistrate's Court Judge Qazi Shariful Islam at 11 am on Tuesday.
