Chhattisgarh Police in action mode, 13 arrested including Naxal with reward of Rs 2 lakh

Security forces have achieved great success in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. After the operation here on Friday, 13 Naxalites were arrested, one of whom was carrying a reward of Rs 2 lakh. All the naxalites caught have been arrested from different places. According to the police, three Naxalites were arrested from Tarrem police station area, while five each were arrested from Awapalli and Jangla police station areas.

According to the media agency report, this is a joint action. In this, District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and its special unit Cobra (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) together carried out these operations. The age of all the arrested Naxalites is between 19 to 40 years.

A reward of Rs 2 lakh was caught

According to the police, the arrested Naxalites include Kosa Punem alias Hadma (40), who is a member of the Jagargunda area committee of the banned organization. A reward of Rs 2 lakh was declared on him. During the arrest, two tiffin bombs, explosive material, detonator cord and Maoist propaganda material were recovered from them.

Police say that these Naxalites have been involved in many incidents and their arrest will help in weakening Naxal activities in the area. Security forces have described these arrests as a major success.

Interrogation of Naxalites continues

Regarding this incident, the police said that the search operation is still going on in the area and strict action will be taken against the Naxalites. Interrogation of the arrested Naxalites is going on, which is likely to yield information about their network and upcoming plans.

This action is part of the efforts of the government and security forces to restore peace and security in the area. Local people have appreciated this step and called it important towards curbing Naxal activities.
