Delhi schools to conduct Parakh Rashtriya Sarvekshan to analyze educational progress

New Delhi: The Delhi government will conduct the Parakh Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024 involving students from Classes 3, 6, and 9 on December 4 at selected government, government-aided, Central, and private schools. In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Parakh Rashtriya Sarvekshan aims to analyse the educational progress of the country.

DoE guidelines on Parakh Rashtriya Sarvekshan

The Directorate of Education (DoE) has issued specific guidelines for schools for a hassle-free survey.

  • As per the DoE, the schools must remain open on December 4, and be specific that no other activities are scheduled for the day.
  • Moreover, the evening schools which are included in the sample must ensure that the students of Classes 3, 6, and 9 are present in the morning shift along with the respective teachers and school heads.
  • The teachers of the selected students need to complete the teacher questionnaire.
  • The school head needs to fill out the school questionnaire.

How the survey will be conducted?

To oversee the survey, an observer and a field investigator will reach the school before the morning assembly.

As per the circular, there must be a large, well-lit, properly ventilated, sanitized room with access to drinking water room on the ground floor. A seating capacity of 30 students is required in the room. The attendance register must be available to the field investigator along with other necessary support and resources for the smooth execution of the survey. It is also mandatory to use a blue or black ballpoint pen for the survey. Once the evaluation ends, all the materials used in the survey must be returned to the investigator and observer.

Children with special needs will get additional measures such as an extra 30 minutes to complete the test and arrange for a scribe (if required).
