Jammu, 30 November (HIST). Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha interacted with volunteers and officials of Jammu and Kashmir Bharat Scouts and Guides at Raj Bhavan today. The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the volunteers and all those associated with the Scouts and Guides movement for their exemplary contribution to the society.
The Lieutenant Governor said that Scouts and Guides inculcate the values of our civilization and ancient culture among the youth. They are inspiring examples of discipline, harmony and selfless service. The Lieutenant Governor also congratulated the Jammu and Kashmir Bharat Scouts and Guides team for inspiring more youth of the Union Territory to join this noble mission. He said that it is a matter of great pride that Jammu and Kashmir Bharat Scouts and Guides has witnessed a huge increase in the enrollment of volunteers from 7500 in 2020 to 14,000 in 2024. The work done by the team is truly commendable and they continue to discharge the duties with efficiency and effectiveness.
The Lieutenant Governor, Chief Patron of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Jammu and Kashmir, assured all possible assistance to further strengthen the Bharat Scouts and Guides movement in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the young volunteers of Jammu and Kashmir Bharat Scouts and Guides are symbols of hope and promise of Jammu and Kashmir and I am confident that they will play an important role in bringing constructive socio-economic change in the Union Territory. On this occasion, ‘Bharat Scouts and Guides Flag Sticker’ was presented to the Lieutenant Governor as a part of the Foundation Day celebrations celebrated on 7th November. He was also briefed about the activities and achievements of Scouts and Guides in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
During the interaction Wing Commander MM Joshi National Commissioner Bharat Scouts and Guides; Maitre Jain Jammu and Kashmir Commissioner (Guide); Senior officers, instructors, guide captains, scouts and guides were present.
