WINNER’s Mino’s leave manipulation case transferred to Military Manpower Administration

WINNER’s Mino is currently entangled in a dispute after being accused by a Korean media site of ignoring his responsibilities in the alternative military duty. He allegedly took too many leaves without following the rules and was given preferential treatment by the supervisor of the public facility he works for, according to the report.

The most recent report indicates that the matter has been addressed by the Military Manpower Administration. They disclosed that the relevant department has already started looking into the claims that Mino falsified his attendance at work.

“If the reports released this morning are true, he can be punished according to the Social Service Worker Act,” the administration clarified.

The leave rules for alternative military duty stipulate that a person who has been enlisted for less than a year is entitled to 15 days of yearly leave, 16 days for those who have been enlisted for more than a year, and 30 days for sick leave, for a total of 31 days for the service time.

However, using annual leave in alignment with sick leave or substitution vacation is prohibited by the social service worker management manual. However, one could be warned or have their service period extended if the initial regulations are broken.

Dispatch’s report claims that Mr. L showed preferential treatment to Mino by assisting him in relocating his service site from a Mapo Facility Management Corporation to a Mapo Resident Welfare Facility. The WINNER member has reportedly been hardly attending work since this abrupt change in March, and other staff members have reportedly corroborated this as well.

According to K-media, Mr. L declined to offer CCTV footage as proof to confirm Mino’s attendance, claiming it was private information. According to Dispatch, Mino took a nearly week-long vacation in October and hardly returned to his social service job location following his return to Korea.

WINNER’s agency, YG Entertainment, stressed that Mino’s sick leave was taken because of a therapy he had been undergoing before his service and that the other off days were taken in compliance with the rules.
