New Delhi: Due to the increasing cold climate conditions across the country the school timings have been changed in many states. Moreover, school winter holidays have been declared in Delhi, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and other places.
The school winter vacations usually start from mid to late December keeping in mind the weather conditions. While in many regions schools begin the winter break around December 25, states like Delhi, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand witness much colder weather and hence these states prepone and also extends the vacation time. Delhi school winter vacation
The Delhi government has announced the winter vacation dates for the government and aided schools. As per the schedule, the winter holidays will be from January 1, 2025, to January 15, 2025.
Punjab school winter holiday
As per the Punjab Education Department notification on winter holidays that was issued on Monday, the vacation will start on December 24 and schools will remain closed till December 31. However, the duration of the holiday can be extended depending on the severity of the weather conditions.
Jammu and Kashmir school winter vacation
Amid heavy snowfall, schools in Jammu and Kashmir up to Class 5 will remain closed from December 10, 2024, to February 28, 2025. The schools from Class 6 to Class 12 will remain closed from December 16, 2024 to February 28, 2025.
Haryana school winter holidays
In response to the cold wave, the Haryana government is likely to declare the school winter vacations soon. Last year, schools in Haryana observed the winter holidays between January 1 to January 15, 2024.
Depending on the weather conditions, the school winter vacation dates are subject to change. Students and parents are advised to check with the respective school authorities for the latest updates on the holiday schedule.
