Jasprit Bumrah rattles Usman Khawaja’s stumps with a peach of a delivery – WATCH

New Delhi: Jasprit Bumrah was once again at his lethal best with the new ball as he got India off to a flying start during Australia’s second innings on Day 5 of the 3rd Test between the two sides at the Gabba in Brisbane on Wednesday. Bumrah bowled an exceptional delivery to clean up Aussie opener Usman Khawaja and send him back cheaply in the innings.

After rain delayed the start of Australia’s second innings on the final day of the Test match, Aussie openers Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney were welcomed with a hostile spell from the Indian pacers. It didn’t take Bumrah too long to make an impact as he rattled Khawaja’s stumps with a beauty of a delivery in his second over of the innings.

The dismissal took place on the 4th ball of the 3rd over. It was a good length delivery from the pacer, angling into the left-hander that breached Khawaja’s defence and crashed onto his stumps. Khawaja was sent packing cheaply on just 8 off 7 balls as Bumrah drew the first blood for the visitors in Australia’s second innings.

Indian pacers wreak havoc on Day 5

Indian pacer wreaked havoc with the new ball on Day 5 of the Gabba Test as they combined to run through the Australian top order. After getting India off to a flyer by getting rid of Khawaja cheaply on 8, Bumrah struck again to dismiss Marnus Labushchagne. Labuschagne edged an outside-off delivery and was caught by Rishabh Pant to be sent packing on just 1 off 9 balls.

Akash Deep then joined the party with quick twin strikes as the right-arm pacer got rid of opener Nathan McSweeney and Mitchell Marsh in quick succession. Both McSweeney and Marsh were caught behind the stumps by Pant after edging outside off deliveries from the pacer. India will be looking to bundle out Australia as quickly as possible to try and salvage a result in the Test match.
