List of New Features & iPhone Changes
iOS 18.3 beta is now out for developers and is expected to come out soon for the public. This new beta brings a host of new features and changes for iPhone users. Accordingly, many are wondering what all new changes have been introduced in the beta.
So, here’s a breakdown of all the new features introduced in the iOS 18.3 beta.
List of new features of iOS 18.3 Beta
iOS 18.3 (build number of 22D5034e) brings the following new features to its beta:
- A modem update.
- When booting up the screen after updating, Apple Analytics does not give you an option to opt out of sending information to them. Thus, to opt out you need to:
- Go to ‘Settings.’
- Go to Privacy and Security.
- Scroll to the bottom and click on ‘Analytics & Improvements,’ and then disable the option to send the information.
- Image Playground changes:
- The beta version of the app icon has its text color change from black to green.
- Changes to images created by users in the app. These include changes in background and the physical appearance of the created avatar.
- In the Control Centre, the icon for the Siri controls has been changed from a keyboard and Siri icon to just an icon of Siri.
- Apple has updated the Camera Control button with a dark mode icon.
- On App store you can use natural language to help you find desired apps. For eg: ‘Help me find apps that help me workout.’
- You can use robot vacuums in the ‘Home’ application.
- iPhone 15 wallpapers are no longer available.
Moreover, Apple has introduced significant updates to the Apple Sports app, via the iOS 18.3 beta. This includes:
- League standings features new ways to track teams that have qualified for or have been eliminated from post-season.
- Quick catching up of scoring plays and big moments with Key Plays – a new play-by-play tab.
- Soccer and baseball game pages now have pregame lineups.
- Users can schedule a live activity for any game on the Today tab. This will allow them to get real-time scorecards on the lock screen when the game begins.
Furthermore, iOS 18.3 beta has fixed an issue with iMovie, where setting permissions for the photo library caused the app to freeze.
