Under the second phase of Shaheed Pakhwada, on the second day of Shaheed Jod Mel at Gurudwara Sri Bhatta Sahib, devotees paid obeisance to the martyrs at Gurughar and prayed for the well-being of all. The event was attended by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) Chairman Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib’s Singh Sahib Giani Sultan Singh, and other prominent persons.
Programs to inspire devotees
On this occasion, the cult famous Ragi, Dhadi, and Kavishari groups enthralled the devotees by singing Gurujama. The role of stage secretary of the program was played by SGPC member Paramjit Singh Lakhewal.

Addressing the gathering, former minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, SGPC member Ajmer Singh Kheda, and district president Gurinder Singh Gogi remembered the sacrifices of the martyrs. He gave a message to the devotees to cherish Sikh history and traditions.

SGPC President’s message to women and families
SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the influence of social media is proving to be harmful for the Sikh community as devotees no longer sit in the Diwan Hall and discuss Sikh history and ideas. He appealed to women to chant Waheguru during pregnancy, so that the baby in their womb is born with the power and blessings of the Guru’s words.
Appeal to connect children with Sikh history
Advocate Dhami requested all the parents to bring their children to the Gurughars so that the children can understand the glorious history and sacrifice of the Sikh community. He said that our Gurus have bravely faced tyranny through their unparalleled sacrifices, and this glorious history should be known to the new generation as well.
The event provided an important opportunity for devotees to connect with Sikh history and values.
