'One Nation, One Election Bill' accepted in Lok Sabha, 269 votes in favor and 198 against, House proceedings adjourned till 3 pm
New Delhi. One Nation, One Election Bill has been accepted today in the winter session of Parliament. After the slip voting, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla announced the results of the slip voting. The Speaker said that whenever electronic voting takes place. Ask for the form only if there is nothing right in it. Lok Sabha Speaker said that 269 votes were cast in favor of the proposal and 198 against it. The majority is in favor of the proposal. After this the proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned till 3 pm.

Demand to send the bill to JPC
There has also been a demand from the ruling party and the opposition to send the bill to the Joint Parliamentary Committee. Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena supported the bill.
AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi opposed the bill, saying it was against the basic structure of the Constitution. This bill will eliminate regional parties and will only benefit national parties.

Congress said it was against the constitution
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi opposed the bill, saying it was an attack on people's right to vote. The Election Commission has been given a lot of powers in this bill. In the Constitution, there is a provision for the Election Commission only to make arrangements for conducting elections, but in this bill, there is a provision for the President to take advice regarding elections from the Election Commission, which is against the Constitution.
Many powers are being given to the Election Commission: Kalyan Banerjee
TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee, opposing the bill, said that under the constitutional amendment, the Election Commission is being given a lot of powers, after which the state governments will be left with nothing in front of the Election Commission. Kalyan Banerjee said that this bill is against the Constitution. Indian Union Muslim League also opposed the bill. Whereas NDA ally TDP said its support to the bill.
