EPFO takes a big decision for high pensioners, submit data by 31st January
New Delhi : EPFO has extended the deadline for employers to upload salary details and other documents on the online platform in respect of 3.1 lakh pending applications for pension on high wages till January 31, 2025.
The Labor Ministry said in a statement that online facility has been provided by EPFO for submission of applications for verification of options/combined options for pension on high wage.

15 days extra time
This facility was introduced on 26 February 2023 for eligible pensioners or members in compliance with the High Court order dated 4 November 2022. It was to be made available only till 3 May 2023. However, considering the representation of employees, the deadline was extended to 26 June 2023 to provide full 4 months time to eligible pensioners/members to file applications. He was also given 15 days extra time to overcome any difficulties.
Extended till 31 May 2024
With this, the last date for submission of applications became 11th July 2023 and till this date a total of 17.49 lakh applications were received from pensioners/members. However, even after this, on the request of the employers and employers' association to extend the time for uploading the salary details, the deadline for online submission of salary details etc. will be extended first till 30 September 2023, then till 31 December 2023 and after that till 31 May. Extended till 2024.
Pending with employers
Despite this huge extension of time, it was observed that more than 3.1 lakh applications for verification of options/combined options are still pending with the employers. Therefore, employers are now being given a last chance till January 31, 2025 to ensure that they dispose of these pending applications and upload them at the earliest, the ministry said.
Additional information/clarification sought
Employers were also requested to submit their response/update information by 15 January 2025 in more than 4.66 lakh cases where the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has provided additional information/information in respect of the applications received and examined by it. Clarification has been sought.
