Jamshedpur: On Wednesday, Congress leader and social worker Alok Kumar was shot dead by unknown criminals in Kadma police station area of Jamshedpur.

The criminals sitting in ambush came from the front and shot Alok Kumar in the chest near Shastri Nagar Road No. 4 located in Kadma police station area. Alok Kumar alias Munna was taken to TMH in injured condition. The team of doctors declared Alok Kumar dead in the hospital.

After receiving information about the incident, DSP Niranjan Tiwari reached the spot and interrogated the people. He said that nearby CCTV footage is being scrutinized and the criminals will be arrested soon. Police are also investigating the reasons for the murder. The family members of the deceased allege that recce of their house was being done for many days, the police was informed about it, the name was also given but the police did not pay any attention, this incident happened due to the negligence of the police.
