Central Congo Boat Tragedy: 25 killed, 75 missing as boat capsizes in Central Congo, search operation underway

Central Congo Boat Tragedy : A major boat accident has occurred in Central Congo, in which 25 people lost their lives and 75 people are missing. The accident occurred when a boat carrying about 100 passengers capsized in the sea. Search operation continues after the accident and efforts are being made to find the missing people.

There were about 100 people in the boat

According to reports, the people on board the boat had set off from Inongo City, located north-east of the capital Kinshasa. When the boat was traveling in the sea, suddenly the boat overturned due to the waves of the sea. Death of 25 people has been confirmed in this accident, while 75 people are still missing.

Since the incident, a search operation is being conducted by local authorities and rescue teams to find the missing passengers. Relief work has been intensified at the incident site. However, no concrete information has been received yet about the missing people. At present, the team of local administration and security forces has expedited the relief and rescue operations.

Did the accident happen due to overload?

According to the information, the accident happened in Fimi river. Where this boat overturned due to being overloaded. The number of people killed in the accident may increase. According to officials, there was overload in the name. Apart from people, the name was also loaded with goods. According to him, bodies of 25 people have so far been recovered from the accident site. However, he said that it is difficult to tell the full number of deaths because there were many people traveling in the name.

Accidents have happened before too

Earlier in the month of October also, about 78 people had died due to drowning when an overloaded boat capsized in the eastern part of the country. Apart from this, a similar incident was reported near Kinshasa in June, in which about 80 people lost their lives.
