India Test captain Rohit Sharma made an honest confession about his below-par performance in Test cricket after he scored just 10 runs in the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 at in Brisbane. The Indian captain gave his batting position to KL Rahul, who is performing well as an opener.

During the third match at Gabba when the team needed Rohit to give out a decent performance, he fell short and lost his wicket to Australian skipper Pat Cummins. Rohit got dismissed for a low score of 10 runs.

I have not batted well. No harm in accepting that. But I know what’s in my mind, how I am preparing myself. It’s about spending as much time as possible out there. As long as my mind, body, and my feet are moving well, I am pretty happy with how things are planning out for me. Those numbers can tell it’s been a while since he has got big numbers, for a person like me, it’s about how I am feeling about myself. I am feeling good about myself. Yes runs are not showing that but inside it is a different feeling,” Rohit said in the post-match press conference.

Rohit has scored only 19 runs in the three times he has appeared in the ongoing five-match Test series. The Indian captain has been constantly struggling in the red-ball format of the game since the Test series against Bangladesh.

After the Gabba Test ended as a draw, the five-match Test series is currently levelled 1-1, and the Indian team will play their fourth Test match at the Melbourne Cricket Stadium in Melbourne, beginning December 26.
