Buse Tosun Cavusoglu, a Turkish wrestler and graduate student at Bayburt University, earned the title of 2024’s best female wrestler from United World Wrestling (UWW).
This recognition follows her exceptional performances throughout the year, including winning her first European championship and earning a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Tosun secured the bronze medal in the women’s 68 kg freestyle wrestling competition at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
Earlier in the year, she reached another career milestone by winning her first European championship title in Bucharest, Romania. These victories added to her already impressive track record in international wrestling competitions.
In 2023, Tosun captured the world championship title at the World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. She defeated Mongolia’s Enkhsaikhany Delgermaa in the final match with a decisive pinfall victory.
