With this significant development, Tata Motors continues to play a pivotal role in transforming India’s public transportation landscape, enabling safer, greener, and more efficient travel for millions of passengers across Uttar Pradesh.

Tata Motors, a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer and part of the legacy built by the late industrialist Ratan Tata, now led by Noel Tata, is set to supply buses that will revolutionize public transportation in Uttar Pradesh’s rural areas. The company has received a substantial order from the Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) for 1,297 bus chassis. This marks the third major order Tata Motors has secured from UPSRTC in 2024, bringing the total number of units ordered within a year to 3,500.

Tata Motors Order

The latest order, awarded through a competitive e-bidding process, includes Tata Motors’ LPO 1618 diesel bus chassis. These chassis are designed specifically for long-distance travel, ensuring comfort and efficiency. Tata Motors has committed to gradually supplying the chassis to UPSRTC, meeting the state’s demand for upgraded public transport infrastructure.

Previous Orders in 2024

Tata Motors has already bagged two significant orders from UPSRTC earlier. In December 2023, the company received an order for 1,350 buses, followed by another for 1,000 buses in October 2024. With this new order, the total stands at 3,500 bus chassis, further cementing Tata Motors’ reputation as a reliable partner for large-scale transportation projects.

UPSRTC’s Modernization Plans

UPSRTC aims to use this order to expand and modernize public transport across Uttar Pradesh. The new bus chassis will comply with the latest BS-VI emission standards, ensuring reduced pollution and environmentally sustainable operations. These buses will serve both rural and urban areas, enhancing connectivity and making travel more convenient.

The LPO 1618 diesel bus chassis will feature state-of-the-art technology prioritizing passenger comfort and safety. Tata Motors, known for its robust and dependable vehicles, ensures that these buses will offer a secure and comfortable travel experience.
