Data is being used extensively in Bihar, Chief Secretary Meena made a big disclosure

Patna : Bihar Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena has given a big information about Bihar. He said that data consumption in the state has increased 15 times in the last 5 years. Also, the state government has talked about taking many big steps regarding development of infrastructure, investment in connectivity and construction of rail and road network.

Bihar has seen unprecedented progress in the development of infrastructure. The road density of the state ranks third in the country which facilitates business and transportation. Its power generation has increased from 700 MW to 7,000 MW. IT parks have been created in the state and data centers are also being built. Meena, a top bureaucrat in the Bihar government, said the focus is on infrastructure and huge investments have been made in building infrastructure in the last two decades.

Tremendous increase in national and state highways

He has said that if I talk about the road sector, we have a network of 1.2 lakh kilometers of rural roads. It has been built in the last 20 years. We have a very strong network of National Highways, State Highways and major district roads. I am happy to tell you that in the last 10 years there has been tremendous growth in the highway network, both national and state highways.

Within the scope of gas distribution

In last year's budget, the state government had announced 4 express highways from Siliguri to Gorakhpur, Raxaul to Haldia, Patna-Purnia and Amas-Darbhanga Expressway to Rajgir, Bodhgaya and Darbhanga. Apart from this, the Varanasi-Kolkata project is also going on, 153 km of which passes through four districts of Bihar. He said that in terms of gas, Bihar has a gas pipeline of more than 1,700 kilometers long. Now all 38 districts are under the scope of city gas distribution. Now all industries can plan to set up gas based industries.

More than 45,000 mobile towers

He has also said that if I talk about telecom, there were around 6 crore mobile users in 2019. Now there are around 7.25 crores. In 2019, an average of 1.67 gigabytes of data was used per month. Now it is 27 gigabytes. There are more than 45,000 mobile towers in Bihar itself.

Took a loan of this much rupees

The Chief Secretary of Bihar said that all the Panchayats are now connected through optical fiber cable. All the villages including remote areas have been connected. In 2005 the power consumption was only 700-800 MW, this year the power consumption in the state reached 8,000 MW. On financing, he said that in 2015, micro, small and medium enterprises i.e. MSMEs got credit flow of Rs 8,000 crore annually from commercial banks. MSMEs got loans worth Rs 77,000 crore from commercial banks in 2023-24.
