Sambhal: The ancient Kartikeshwar Mahadev temple, which was closed for 46 years, was opened in Sambhal five days ago. Now carbon dating of the idols found during excavation from the well located near the temple will be done. ASI team will reach Sambhal for carbon dating. The age of the idols will be identified in the investigation starting from Friday. Collector Dr. Rajendra Pansia has sent a letter to ASI and done its carbon dating.
Digging of well stopped after idols were found
During the electricity theft operation in Khaggusarai, ancient temple and well were found. The doors of the temple were opened after 46 years. Fragmentary statues of three gods and goddesses have been found in a well that was filled next to the temple. No trace of their ancient significance has been discovered yet. The excavation has been stopped after the idols were found.
