RBSE REET 2024: Board changes OMR rule, adds negative marking
New Delhi: The Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan (RBSE) has introduced a new Optical Marks Recognition (OMR) rule and changes in the marking scheme for the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) 2025.
As per the changes made, the REET question paper 2025 will have five options for a question instead of four. Moreover, RBSE has also introduced a negative marking scheme for incorrect responses.
How REET negative marking scheme will work?
In the REET exam, if a candidate answers a question incorrectly answer or does not select an answer from any of the five choices, a negative mark will be awarded. The board stated that ⅓ (0.33) marks out of the total mark for a question will be deducted for every wrong attempt.
REET registration underway
The REET registration process is underway and will conclude on January 15. The teachers’ recruitment exam is scheduled to be held on February 27. The REET application fee is Rs 550 for each of the levels. Those who want to appear in both levels need to pay Rs 750 as the application.
As per the pattern, the exam includes two levels- level 1 is for those seeking to teach in Class 1 to Class 5 and level 2 is for teaching in Class 6 to Class 8.
As of December 18 evening, a total of 29,308 REET applications were received by the board. Out of the total applications, 1,035 have applied to attempt both papers.

Sensitive and highly sensitive exam centres with CCTV, videography and special flying squads will be monitored by the board.
