'Every hand that stands up for Israel will be cut off', Defense Minister Katz said after air strike on Houthi rebels
Tel Aviv: The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed counterattacks on Houthi rebels. According to The Times of Israel, fighter planes have attacked Houthi positions in Yemen in response to repeated missile and drone attacks by the Houthis on Israel. The IDF said the locations targeted by the warplanes “were being used by the Houthi rebels for their military operations. The Israeli military said that “attacking these targets causes harm to terrorist authorities by preventing them from exploiting the infrastructure for military and terrorist purposes, including through the transfer of Iranian weapons.”
The Houthis, along with Iranian-backed militias, targeted Israel last year with Iranian guidance and funding, according to an IDF statement. Undermined regional stability and disrupted global shipping. The IDF said it was “capable and determined to continue to operate and attack at any distance anyone who threatens civilians of the State of Israel. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has issued a warning to Houthi leaders following overnight Israeli strikes in Yemen. “Israel’s long arm reaches out to Houthi leaders,” he said.
“Anybody who raises their hand will be cut down,” Katz said. Anyone who attacks us will be hit multiple times. Meanwhile, IDF chief spokesman Daniel Hagari said the port and energy infrastructure in the rebel-held capital Sanaa had been targeted. Which was used by the Houthis for their military operations.
“The Houthis have become a global threat with their attacks on international shipping vessels and routes in the Red Sea and elsewhere,” Hagari said in a video released by The Times of Israel. Who is behind the Houthis? Iran said that “military force will take action against anyone in the Middle East who threatens Israel.” Sharing Hagri's video statement on X, the IDF said, “IAF warplanes attacked military targets belonging to the Houthi terrorist regime on the West Bank and inland Yemen.
For the past year, the Houthi terrorist regime has been attacking the State of Israel and Israeli civilians, with direction and funding from Iran and in cooperation with Iraqi militias.
The strikes carried out weaken the Houthi terrorist regime, preventing it from exploiting targets in the region for military and terrorist purposes, including Iranian arms smuggling. The IDF is determined to continue to operate, where necessary, against all threats posed to citizens of the State of Israel. Earlier, the IDF said air defenses shot down a missile fired from Yemen, which it said never entered Israeli airspace, the report said. The Israeli military said the sirens were sounded due to concerns that shrapnel from the intercept could cause injuries.
