millet 1 bowl

Water – 4 bowls

Salt – as per taste

Cumin – half teaspoon

Garlic – paste of 6 cloves

Tomato – 2 finely chopped

Green chilli – 2 finely chopped

Turmeric powder – half teaspoon

Black pepper – a pinch spoon

Coriander leaves – finely chopped

Capsicum – 1 finely chopped

Carrot – 1 small grated

Ginger – 1 inch grated

Wash the millet and soak it in water for 20 minutes.

Now pour 6 cups of water in a pan and keep it to boil. When water starts boiling, add soaked millet and let it cook well on medium flame.

Keep in mind that millet must be boiled for 10-15 minutes, so that it gets cooked properly.

Now heat some oil in a pan.

Add ginger, garlic, cumin and green chillies and fry.

Then add tomatoes, carrots, capsicum and turmeric powder.

Mix them well and let it cook for 10 minutes.

Now add boiled millet to this masala and mix well.

Add salt and pepper and let the soup cook for another 7 – 8 minutes.

When the soup is ready, serve it hot and garnish with coriander leaves.

If you want, you can add a little lemon juice to this soup.
