Tottenham plotting January move for former Antonio Conte favourite amid defensive nightmares?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly a possible destination for Paris Saint-Germain defender Milan Skriniar, who has fallen out of favour in the French capital.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in Paris Saint-Germain defender Milan Skriniar.

The 29-year-old has played a bit-part role for Les Parisiens this season, featuring in just five Ligue 1 matches for the current French champions.

Starting just four of those contests, Skriniar has collected only 381 minutes of top-flight action as the halfway point of the campaign draws closer.

The centre-back is valued greater by his international managers, with the player making 77 appearances for Slovakia since his senior debut in 2016.

Since making the move on a free transfer from Inter Milan to Parc des Princes in July 2023, Skriniar has played 37 matches for PSG, scoring once.

Tottenham is a ‘plausible option’ for PSG’s Skirinar

According to The Galletto dello Sportan interesting option has emerged as a possible next destination in the career of PSG man Skriniar.

The report states that Premier League outfit Tottenham could be in the race for the 29-year-old, who has been left unhappy in the French capital.

It is understood that the defender is no longer a key part of the first-team plans for PSG, who are gunning for both domestic and continental honours.

It has been claimed that Les Parisiens boss Luis Enrique has left Skriniar ‘redundant’, meaning that a January exit is highly likely for the player.

As well as a switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Slovakian has been linked to a return to Italy and Napolias well as Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.

Where does Skriniar fit at Tottenham?

Due to a number of injury problems, Tottenham have spent a good chunk of the 2024-25 term to date without their key centre-back pairing of Micky van de Ven and Christian Romero.

As a result, Ange Postecoglou has been forced to play some names unfamiliar to a role in the heart of a backline, including Archie Gray and Ben Davies.

Skriniar would represent a top-class option for Spurs at centre-back, possessing the ability to challenge Van de Ven and Romero for starting spots.
