Samajwadi Party MP Ziaur Rahman Burke is getting surrounded by controversies, while his family members have also come into limelight due to controversial statements and threats. On Thursday, when the Electricity Department team reached the MP’s residence for checking, his father Mamluqur Rahman Burke threatened the officials. He said, “Let the government change, they will destroy you.” Along with this, it was also said that the entire Deepa Sarai Mohalla would gather on his one voice.

FIR for obstructing government work
BK Gangal and Ajay Sharma, junior engineers (JE) of the electricity department, alleged that during the checking, Mamluqur Rahman Burke threatened them and obstructed the government work. On this, SDO Santosh Kumar Tripathi lodged a complaint at Nakhasa police station. Police have registered a case against Mamluqur Rahman Burke and his two associates Waseem and Salman under serious sections including obstructing government work and threatening.

What happened during checking?
On Thursday, the Electricity Department team along with heavy police force reached the house of MP Ziaur Rahman Burke to investigate electricity theft and irregularities. When the team was checking the load of electrical equipment on the second floor, Mamluqur Rahman got enraged. JE Gangal and Ajay Sharma alleged that he threatened, saying, “Let the government change, we will account to you.”

Apart from this, the MP’s father also stopped the journalists from doing coverage and threw them out of the house.

This is not the first time that a member of the Burke family has made a controversial statement. The MP’s grandfather Dr. Shafiqur Rahman Burke was also known for his controversial statements and domineering attitude. He had given open warnings to the administration and police on several occasions.
